OSECO Transportation Disks
conform with ICC regulations in providing reliable overpressure protection of railroad tank cars and certain other containers transportable by truck or ship.
You are assured of the industry’s highest degree of reliability for the manufacture of each disk from start to finish. Because of OSECO’s
advanced processing and instrumentation. And because of our thorough testing, which assures a consistent burst pressure and higher accuracy than mere raw material performance temperature tests on a “curve” or “average” basis. This precision and reliability make the
OSECO difference.
HPRC (Hopper Plastic Railcar Disk)
The OSECO HPRC is a durable plastic rupture disk for railroad tank car service, and fits the standard threaded or bolted railroad tank car safety vent. Ryton
plastic is the standard material of construction, with Teflon linings offered as optional. OSECO HPRC disks offer the safety
of allowing the same rupture pressure in both directions. This also means that the disk can be installed in either direction.
- Design fit to standard railcar safety vents
- Bidirectional design
- Ryton construction
- Optional Teflon liners
HCLRC (Hydrochloric Acid Railcar Disk)
The OSECO HCLRC rupture disk is designed primarily for rubber-lined tank cars that are used in HCL service.
This rupture disk has a 4.75” O.D. and standard material of construction is Ryton with Teflon linings, and 1/32” Teflon
gaskets secured to both sides. The HCLRC is damage resistant and is not susceptible to premature rupture during coupling and switching. Because the HCLRC
is bidirectional, it can be easily installed.
- Hydrochloric acid use
- Ryton construction
- Teflon gaskets/liners
- Resistance to damage and premature rupture
- Bidirectional design
- Easy installation
- 4.75” outer diameter
CRC (Composite Railcar Disk)
The OSECO Composite Rail CAR (CRC) is a metal disk with a 3.125” outside diameter, and fits the standard threaded or bolted railroad tank car safety vent. The
CRC consists of a 316 stainless steel ring, an Inconel 600 slotted top section, a Teflon seal, a 316 stainless steel
vacuum support, and a Teflon gasket. The ring is on the atmospheric side of the rupture disk and helps protect and center the disk during
installation. The vacuum support protects the seal should vacuum occur during unloading or while the car is in transit.
As an optional item, an OSECO Insect Screen is available that installs on the process side of the rupture disk. After the disk has ruptured, the Insect Screen
will limit access to the contents of the rail car by insects.
- Design fit to standard railcar safety vents
- Stainless steel centering ring to ensure proper installation
- Steel vacuum support
- Inconel construction with Teflon seal/gasket
- Insect screen optional
- 3.125” outer diameter
ICD (Intermodal Container Disk)
The OSECO ICD rupture disk is a forward acting scored rupture disk used in the overpressure protection of
intermodal containers. It is designed as a non-fragmenting rupture disk with the score lines on the convex side, away from the process.
It can withstand vacuum without a separate support and can be used in liquid or gas applications. Standard materials of construction are a nickel disk,
316 stainless steel rings, Teflon gaskets, and a Teflon liner on the process side of the rupture disk. OSECO’s
superior scoring technology makes possible precision scoring to 1/100,000th of an inch.
- Nonfragmenting design
- Scoring on vent side
- Vacuum readiness without additional support
- Liquid or gas service
- Nickel construction with stainless steel rings
- Teflon gaskets/liners
