Positive Pressure Production Package

A Brief Operating Description - The package consists of three key functions: Separation, Storage and Flare...

Separation:
As the fluid from the well head enters the package, it passes through a heating coil which is submerged in fluid in the fire tube/weir section. The fluid is heated and continues into the 275 psi 24”x5’ vertical separator. At this point the liquid and vapor separate. Since the liquid has been preheated, dump and waxing problems are reduced. Vapor break out is also enhanced.

Storage:
The liquid is dumped out of the separator and flows through a line back to the opposite end of the storage tank, the fire tube/weir section. The liquid is released under the fire tube so that it passes the fire tube and is heated before it spills over the weir and flows back to the other end of the tank. Therefore, the liquid in the storage tank is uniformly heated. The storage tank is equipped with a stainless steel float on a stainless steel arm assembly to display the fluid level on the outside of the tank. This assembly includes a high level ESD shut off switch.

The storage tank is designed to operate at 15 psi which forces vapor to the flare system automatically. The 00,000 B.T.U. x 10” direct fired U tube ensures reliable heating. All fluid lines are sloped and situated so that freeze up of condensed liquid does not occur during operation. The Tornado™ Burner Tube Pilot provides constant ignition while consuming only four (4) liquid liters per day.

Flare:
As the gas breaks out of the oil in the storage tank, it passes through a Tornado™ Detonation Flame Arrestor. The Flame Arrestor prevents a flare flash back from entering the storage tank. The storage tank is also equipped with a high pressure shut off switch. Excess pressure will trip the micro switch and shut off the ESD valve, preventing further flow from entering the tank. The flare gas travels to the stack on a separate line, and is not interrupted by high pressure flows from the separator.

The waste gas is ignited by an energy efficient Tornado™ Ignitor of your choice. Flare gas from the separator passes through a dry flow recorder, which is equipped with a bypass to facilitate orifice changes. Also, the Separator gas flows to the stack on its own line to ensure back pressure in the storage tank is prevented under high volume conditions. The flare stack may be equipped with different types of Knockout Drums depending on each situation and condition.

Conclusion:
All mechanical equipment is housed in an insulated steel-clad building. This walk-in separator building ensures reliable operation in all weather conditions.

By addressing common problems, the Positive Pressure Production Package has been designed to operate as trouble free as possible. Yes, there are even more options and advantages to our package, not mentioned here. Contact Advanced Rupture Disk Technology for more details.

Features:

  • Incoming Fluid is Preheated - Gas and oil separate better, doesn’t freeze in separator, dumps work correctly, less wax buildup, and reduces foaming
  • Dump Lines to tank are all housed inside the walk-in Separator building - prevents freeze-ups and fluid overflows, extends life of dump valve
  • Separator Drain Valve - 2” size, easy to swab through
  • High Level Shut Down Switches on storage tank and separator - prevents oil overflows and cleanup costs
  • High Pressure Shut Down Switch on storage tank to prevent odor problems. The High Pressure and the High Level switches activate ESD valve on the inlet to separator
  • All Precision Equipment is housed in the insulated steel clad walk-in separator building. Heat to the building is supplied by a catalytic heater and radiant heat from the storage tank
  • Fuel Lines and other lines are sloped so they drain and do not collect liquids that may freeze
  • 275 psi Inlet Separator at 24”x5” will handle production surges easily
  • Positive Pressure design prevents odor loss
  • Dry Flow Recorder for accurate gas measurement
  • Two Flow Lines to Stack - one for separator has and one for storage tank gases
  • Detonation Flame Arrestor - mounted inside building to prevent freeze-ups and plugging
  • 4”x40’ Dual Flare Stack with Ignition system
  • Mechanical Gauge Board for fluid level measurement
  • Reduced Costs - The Positive Pressure Production Package dramatically reduces trucking, installation, operating, tear-out, and cleanup costs
  • Exceeds ERCB requirements.
