Tornado™ Technologies has engineered and built a wide range of enclosed combustion systems to dispose of many types of gases. Through our experience, we have found that S.S. pins and keepers used in securing ceramic fiber blanket to the walls of these units fail in harsh and high heat conditions when exposed to certain gas compositions. We researched availability of products that would be resistant to these extreme conditions. The products we found, presented many limitations that we did not wish to incorporate into our systems for our customers.

Tornado™ designers put their heads together and developed the Tornado™ Tuff & Tight Fastening System. This system incorporates a ceramic keeper held in place by a serrated S.S. pin that is welded to the wall to be insulated. Once the pin is welded to the surface and the insulation is in place, you simply push the ceramic keeper and push the washer over the pin. When in place, there is no way that the washer can back off unless very large amounts of force are applied to pull it off. After the ceramic keeper is secured, you fill the cavity with gun-able ceramic that seals the S.S. pin inside free from any exposure to flame impingement. This system, once completed, insures long life and dependable service in acetic environments.
